LOGISTICIAN

MSF logistician Jennifer Bock and her colleagues unload 58 boxes one ton of medical supplies, mainly malaria testing kits, destined for the MSF-supported health centre in Boguila, Central African Republic.

Background

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid in close to 70 countries worldwide to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF assists people based on their needs, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Each year more than 3,000 international staff join 29,000 locally hired staff to provide medical aid in countries around the world. MSF guarantees a dynamic and intense work environment alongside people who believe in helping those in need. MSF recruits medical and non-medical staff who are willing to work in its international projects.

Purpose       

Plan, coordinate and monitor all logistics related activities in the project area including all non-medical assistance related activities (shelter, food, water hygiene-sanitation and essential nonfood items) and provide support to medical assistance activities, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the project.

Requirements

  • Education: Essential secondary education and technical diploma or technical university degree, preferably as an engineer
  • Experience: Two years of working experience in logistics related activities essential; experience with other NGOs desirable
  • Languages: Fluency in English essential; French highly desirable
  • Availability: Minimum commitment of 9-12 months
